Mosteghanemi's trilogy — Memory in the Flesh (1993), Chaos of the Senses (1997), and Bed Hopper (2003) — built around an Algerian war veteran painter living in Paris and his obsession with the daughter of a fallen comrade, sold in the millions across the Arab world and made her one of the most popular novelists in the Arabic language.
